Remember how I said I was obsessed with off-the-shoulder tops? Well this is one obsession I don’t need curing! Bring on all the off-the-shoulder tops for dayyys, please!

I recently styled this top here.

And here it is again! I’ve seen many blogs where bloggers style a top only once and move on to the next item in their closet. While I think this is great (I wish I had that much clothes!), I think it is more important to show that when you buy clothes, they’re an investment. In the words of my soul sister Carrie Bradshaw (from Sex and the City): “I like to see my money where I can see it – hanging in my closet.” That’s your hard earned money and if you are gonna spend it on clothes over anything else, make sure you get your money’s worth!

I always value an item by the times I estimate I will use it. If I’m gonna be spending $200+ on a pair of shoes, best believe I’m wearing those beauties at least twice a week till I can’t no more!

Although you don’t have to use this system with every item you buy, it’s a good habit to get into. That way you don’t ever feel like you’re throwing your money away when you clean out your closet. Because c’mon, no one likes to be mad at their clothes!

This time around, I styled this top with some boyfriend jeans. I’ve had these jeans in my closet for a while now and could not figure out what to wear with them. And then I paired it with this shirt and bam! I love this look so much! It’s a more casual look but still very feminine! Like I said before, I’m obsessed with this top! You could also wear flats or flip flops, but I opted for heels for a more classy look.

Do you have any tops that you wear with everything?!? Or any item for that matter? Do you “invest” in your closet? How do you value your prized possessions? Let me know in the comments below.

XO, Mayra
