I’ve always been thin, that’s just the way God made me. It’s been both a blessing and a curse. And I’ve always heard people say how easy it must be to buy clothes because clothes must looks so good on me. Sorry but, no. Clothes does not look good on someone because they are thin. I’m learning that clothes looks good on someone because they believe it looks good on them. Confidence. That’s what makes clothes look good on someone.
Now, I’ve always had trouble finding clothes to fit me because I didn’t want something to look too big or too tight on me. So when I found a brand or store that carried clothing that fit me comfortably, you better believe I became a frequent shopper!
But as you grow older, some of those brands/stores just don’t seem “acceptable” for your age group. Ummm, what?!?
The other day a co-worker of mine complimented me on a sweater I was wearing. I told her it was from American Eagle. She then said that she wished she could still shop there, but that she was too old. Hold on sista! Too old!??
As someone who has always struggled to find clothes, I’m here to tell you that no matter how old you are, you can shop wherever you want!
Again, clothing is about confidence.
I know what clothes fit me good and it doesn’t matter what the label says. Just because I am in my mid 20’s doesn’t mean I should start shopping at the GAP (which there is nothing wrong with the GAP, they have cute clothes!) or stop shopping at places like American Eagle. Shop where you want because you want to!
I got these jeans and this top from American Eagle. I’ve always loved the way their jeans fit me. I mean why fix something that’s not broken??? And currently they’re having a Buy One Get One 50% off! I just bought these and these. And I think cold-shoulder tops are a perfect transitioning piece for Spring. Also, can we just take a moment to appreciate my new Baubles??? They’re my favorite color and BaubleBar is gifting a piece with every $40+ purchase!!! Holla!!!
What are some of your favorite brands? What do you love about them? Let me know!
