Girl Talk: F.F.F.

Happy June!

After a month of revamping my blog, I can’t believe how much I’ve already accomplished. I’m still trying to figure out what kind of content y’all like and which I enjoy creating the most. So this month, I want to try some new types of blogs and get feedback from y’all.

“Girl Talk” is a series that focuses on the ladies. I’m the oldest so I never had anyone to give me advice or hear me out growing up. Thankfully I can do that for my sister. But I wonder how many other girls out there are in my shoes? Girl Talk will address issues that I think we all face.

*Note: This post is not aimed at anyone in particular*

I listen to the radio and Spotify And lately I noticed a trend that I thought was interesting. And I couldn’t help but relate, so I decided to write about it.

F.F.F stands for F*ck Fake Friends and it’s a song by Bebe Rexha.

Friends come and go, friends come and go
Go like the seasons
I never know, I never know what to believe in
And it’s getting old, it’s getting old
But no hard feelings
‘Cause friends come and go, friends come and go without a reason

Then there’s Camila Cabello, with Real Friends, which we all know what’s going on with that. (Hint: She left Fifth Harmony to pursue a solo career)

I’m just lookin’ for some real friends
All they ever do is let me down
Every time I let somebody in
Then I find out what they’re all about
I’m just lookin’ for some real friends
Wonder where they’re all hidin’ out
I’m just lookin’ for some real friends
Gotta get up out of this town

See the trend yet?

These songs got me thinking, do I have “fake friends”? Have I ever encountered “fake friends”? And the answer was a resounding yes. And not that it’s bad (ok, it really is, I mean who likes to be lied to by a person you trusted and thought was your best friend?!?), but I personally see it more as a stepping stone in life.

I thoroughly believe that everyone comes into your life for a reason. Some to teach you lessons and make you stronger, and others to experience life with.

Over the years I’ve had to deal with letting go of a number of friendships (some have let me go), but I’ve made my peace. I had fun and learned a lot from these friendships, but when things run their course, you just have to let go. I cherish these lost friendships for the memories they left me with. I don’t wish these people any bad karma.

If you’re dealing with something like this, my advice:

  • LET IT GO!
  • Make room for other more amazing people to come into your life!
  • Give that time to other people in your life who actually deserve it! Cherish what you have right in front of you. Good friendships are hard to come by nowadays. Find them, keep them, foster them, and let go of those that are holding you back.
  • Keep people around who love you and want to see you grow and be happy.
  • Don’t chase after people that don’t want you in their lives. It hurts I know, but if it’s not meant to be then don’t force it.
  • Everyone has their own definition of what a “good” friend is, so don’t let others definition define what YOU want in a friend.
  • Stay away from the drama! Not worth it, I promise!
  • Most importantly, reciprocate all the love you receive and give it back 10x over! Love makes the world go ’round y’all!

Remember, we live in an era where woman are strong, independent and have voices that are being heard. So why are we trying to hinder each other??? If one of us wins, we ALL win! #WomenSupportingWomen

Outfit Details:Dress | Shoes (ON SALE!)| Necklace

I had always been so shy to wear dresses. I am very girlie, but something about dresses just made me feel uncomfortable. (True story: when I first got the dress I couldn’t find the hole to wrap the dress around; I almost had to wear it as a kimono! Haha!) But I took a chance on this floral dress and felt right at home. The ruffles add such a delicate detail and the flowers are perfect for summer. Can’t wait to get some more dresses for the summer!

Real talk though, these songs are pretty catchy! Listen to them (if you haven’t already) and let me know what you think!
