Movie Mondays

If you follow me on social media, you will see in my stories that bae and I go to a movie weekly. It has kinda just become our thing and I love it! We have our routine, we have our preferred (okay, MY preferred) movie theaters, and for the most part, are on the same wave length on which movies we want to watch and which are better to just wait for them to come out on Netflix/Redbox.

Since we go so much, bae has constantly recommended that I review the movies we watch, since we usually watch them on opening weekend and I get messages from friends and family asking me whether I recommend it or not. So let’s try this!

Here is the rating key that I will be using:

Excellent ♥♥♥♥♥        Very Good ♥♥♥♥       Good ♥♥♥         Okay ♥♥          Eh ♥

I will talk about the plot (and TRY not to give away any spoilers), I’ll share the trailer so you can see what the movie is about, and I’ll talk about what I liked/dislike and whether I recommend you go see it.

Here is a quick review of the latest movies that have come out that are still in theaters.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again

I watched the first one and loved it. So obviously I was excited to see the second one. I love the fact that they went back in time and told the story of how she ended up on that Greek island and how she acquired the hotel. Also, how she met all three guys and how she ended up in the position that she did: not knowing who the dad was. I must warn y’all though, there is a LOT of singing! If you’re not too fond of musicals, maybe wait till it comes out on video so you can pause in between songs.

Rating:  ♥♥♥♥♥

Hotel Transylvania 3

Okay, I have to admit that I did not watch the second one of this series. However, I don’t think that it is necessary. This movie was cute and funny. I do have to say that I still like the first one better. Great movie to go to if you have kids though! And be ready to dance!

Rating:  ♥♥♥

Ant Man and The Wasp

Okay, I highly recommend either watching the first Ant Man or Civil War (but it’s better if you watch both) before watching this. They do reference back to these movies a lot. It’s set in time before Infinity War happens, and the first credit scene catches up the time line to Infinity War. (I don’t recommend staying for the last credit scene) For some reason, I feel that Ant Man is one of the lesser popular superheros of the Marvel Universe. But I am a huge fan of Marvel movies and will go watch every one of them! And I have a feeling that he is going to play a big part in the aftermath of Infinity War… I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

Overall, this movie was funny, had action, and some tender father-daughter moments. We watched it in 3D and that was pretty cool, especially when travelling through the quantum realm!

Rating:  ♥♥♥

Jurassic World 2: Fallen Kingdom

I love the original Jurassic Park and dinosaurs are cool. This ride was one of my favorites at Universal Studios Hollywood! However, I think this franchise is going too far. The stories repeat and the outcomes are always the same. This movie wasn’t bad, I just wished they could do something new with it. 🙁

Rating:  ♥♥

We’ve also gone to see Won’t You Be My Neighbor, The Incredibles 2, Book Club and Hereditary to name a few. Let me know if you have any questions on those movies, I know some theaters are still showing them. Have you seen any of the movies I reviewed? What did YOU think about them?

Also, how often would you like a movie review? Weekly, bi-weekly, monthly? Please let me know in the comments below!
