To say that I love musicals is an understatement. I dream of having a masquerade ball like in Phantom of the Opera, I know every word to Chicago, and I listen to The Greatest Showman instrumental when I study. Oh, and when Mamma Mia! 2 came out, that’s all I listened to for WEEKS! I might be a little obsessed…

So naturally, when I saw Wicked was coming to San Antonio I freaked out! I got access to pre-sale tickets and I sent them to bae with a little hint hint, it falls on our anniversary week, winky face, heart face emoji! And guess who got to see Wicked last night? THIS GIRL!!!

Y’all it was amazing and downright wicked! It was my first Broadway production and I was in awe the whole time. Their props ain’t your high school/local community kinda props. Their costumes are beautiful! The timeliness of things is perfect! And their voices, oh.em.gee! Literally amazing!

Wicked is the “untold” story of the Wicked Witch of the West. It’s based off the book, Wicked (which I am in the process of reading – so sad I didn’t get to finish it before the show!) It doesn’t follow the book EXACTLY, but it was close! I don’t think it gave away any major spoilers…. Wicked, the musical, has a great story! It’s a love story, not just between a boy and a girl, but also in friendship, family, and self. I was laughing, I was crying, I was scared, I was filled with love and emotion.

Glinda is by far my favorite character and probably the fan favorite. She is funny and cute and just so bubbly! Definitely very quotable! (It’s Glinda, the “ga” is silent) Elphaba is the main character and you just can’t help but love her and feel for her. I love this version of the story so much! And they do a very good job at tying it back to the Wizard of Oz we all know and love.

Outfit Details: Dress | Earrings | Necklace

How gorgeous is this dress? It’s calf-length but the slit on the side is so sexy! Perfect for a date with my handsome fella! Oh and the color, of course it had to be a shade of green – we were going to the Emerald City!

Wicked is in San Antonio from September 26 – October 14, so you got 10 more days. Go see it now, I HIGHLY recommend it! If you’re not in San Antonio, check them out online, they’re touring to different cities in the states!

On a side note, Phantom of the Opera is coming to San Antonio next, hmmm…..

Have you seen Wicked? Are you as obsessed with musicals as I am? What is your favorite musical?

  1. A 12 year love. I was 12 years old when I first saw Wicked- in 2006 in NYC: all I remember was being with mom and that “Popular” was my favorite- but the impact shows. Elphaba is my favorite character in the musical, but I do also love Glinda and Fiyero- those three characters I am emotionally connected to. Wicked sparked my love for musicals- I began to understand the complex and emotional side of musicals all because of Wicked

  2. Ahh I didn’t know this was your first musical you’ve been to! That’s a good one to start with. ☺️ Glad you loved it and now be prepared to become addicted to shows lol.
