What a more perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s than with a movie date with you and you’re special person! Lucky for me, I get to go on a movie date with bae almost weekly!
This weekend, we went and watched Isn’t It Romantic and The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part. I also went to an early screening of How to Train Your Dragon a couple weeks ago so we’ll include that one as well since it comes out this weekend.
Excellent ♥♥♥♥♥ Very Good ♥♥♥♥ Good ♥♥♥ Okay ♥♥ Eh ♥
The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part
If you haven’t seen part 1, I highly suggest you watch it! Part 2 picks up right where the first one leaves off, so you want to have an understanding of who the characters are and why things are happening.
Everything is not awesome. Emmet’s friends are taken and our hero has to journey out of their world to a different galaxy that is met with strange creatures and a lot of singing! I love musicals, so I was all for it. But be forewarned, those songs are catchy and might just stay stuck in your head all day! On his way there, he meets an interesting character and faces some challenges.
The morale behind the movie is sweet and I think they do a really good job at presenting it. You definitely get involved with the characters and go through the emotions with them. You’ll laugh, cry, get mad, and have awww moments.
Let me also say that you have to have a certain kind of humor to enjoy these movies. There were a lot of kids in the theater, but the people you heard laughing were THE PARENTS! The thing I like about these movies is that yes, kids can enjoy them, but you have to be an adult to really grasp the humor! It’s a movie that the entire family can enjoy. I’d probably watch it again to try and catch those jokes that I know I missed!
Isn’t It Romantic
This movie, I’m still trying to decide how I feel about it. It’s your non-stereotypical typical RomCon. I love RomCons! But this one, I’m not so sure about…
Yes, it is supposed to make fun of RomCons, but I think they exaggerate a bit too much, almost to the point where it’s annoying. Some scenes actually made me laugh. But then I would look over at bae and he was not having it! We even saw a couple walk out before the movie ended. I’m going to go ahead and say that they had had enough. Oops!
My recommendation, go watch this with girlfriends or your mom/sister, don’t make bae go through this. If you’re gonna make him watch a RomCom, at least make it a good one!
How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World
And coming out this weekend is the third installment of How to Train Your Dragon.
You must see the previous two films to really grasp this movie. This movie ties everything together in what is said to be the final movie of this series. *Sad Face*
These movies are always so sweet! Toothless is such a character and he definitely does not disappoint in this movie! All your favorite characters ban together for another adventure that will have you laughing all the way through! But this movie is also about growing up. It’s about letting go of your fears and becoming who you are meant to be. This movie really does a good job at delivering it’s message and is a must see! It’s great family option or just a feel good movie!
We just purchased tickets for Captain Marvel (thank God they weren’t sold out yet!) so I’m excited about that!
We haven’t seen Alita yet, but I don’t know if we are much in a hurry to see it. We decide what we want to see partly by their scores on Rotten Tomatoes as good as I thought it would. Cold Pursuit is another movie on our radar (good tomato score), so maybe we’ll go see that one as well…
Have you seen or are you excited to see any of these movies? Do you agree with my reviews? Is there any movies you recommend I see and review?
