Visiting New Mexico and looking for a place to stay? Here is why you should consider Hotel Chaco Albuquerque.

Hotel Chaco in Albuquerque is a AAA 4-diamond boutique hotel and one of the most distinct hotels in all of New Mexico. They’ve combined authentic Native American design with contemporary design to make it almost feel like you are stepping into a museum rather than a hotel.

I was invited to stay at Hotel Chaco by Visit Albuquerque, however, this review is not sponsored and all opinions are my own.

Hotel Chaco is located at 2000 Bellamah Ave. NW Albuquerque, New Mexico 87104.

Hotel Chaco is in Albuquerque’s historic Old Town district and close to so much, which I’ll go into more detail below. It opened up in the Spring of 2017 so is still a fairly new property. The hotel is highly inspired by Chaco Canyon National Monument and you can see that in its architecture and design.

If you are looking for a calm serene property mixed in with luxury, then you are going to want to stay at Hotel Chaco Albuquerque!

Hotel Chaco Rooms

Hotel Chaco has 118 rooms with an average room rate of $186 per night. Prices fluctuate depending on the season, demand and room type. The rooms were designed by the world-famous architecture firm Gensler and the interior design was done by award-winning designer Kris Lajeskie.

You will notice a neutral tone vibe in all of Hotel Chaco, starting on the outside and continuing on the inside and in each room. They even have cute and comfy matching robes!

Each room is equipt with all the standard necessities, including a mini fridge and Keurig coffee maker. I especially liked that they also include a variety of k-pods, water bottles, and house-made granola which was so good, I had to bring some home to my hubby!

The bathrooms are large with a modern walk-in shower and a lighted makeup mirror. They also include your basic amenities like body lotion, body wash, and hair products.

I stayed in a classic king room on the 3rd floor and really enjoyed my stay. They also offer a classic queen (2 bed) room and three different types of suites. Hotel Chaco is a non-smoking hotel.

Check-in is at 4 pm and check-out is at 11 am. Guests must be at least 21 years old to make a reservation. Exceptions are made for active military with proper military ID if under the age of 21.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes! Hotel Chaco is dog friendly so you can bring your fur baby. However, there is a $75 fee per stay and an additional $35 if you bring a second dog. They have a 60 lbs weight limit and you may not leave your pet unattended.

Hotel Chaco Restaurant

There are three different areas that you can have food and drinks at Hotel Chaco: Level 5 restaurant, Equinox Cafe & Bar, and the Crafted Cafe. Each one offers something different and they each have their own hours.

Crafted Cafe

The Crafted Cafe is open Thursday through Saturday from 4 pm – 9 pm. They offer light bite and New Mexico made wine or spirits which can be enjoyed outside in the patio area.

Their light bites include Mixed Olives, Truffled Popcorn, and an Artisanal Charcuterie and Cheese. Their bar menu includes five different flights and wine by the glass or bottle.

Equinox Cafe & Bar

Equinox is the lobby cafe and bar. It is open Tuesday through Saturday from 3 pm – 9 pm. Equinox has more of a casual vibe.

In the morning, they offer pastries, juices, hand-crafted cappuccinos, lattes and espressos. Their eveining cocktails include hand-crafted specialty cocktails, premium pours, imported and domestic beers and wine.

Level 5 Hotel Chaco

Their more famous restaurant is Level 5, which is located on the rooftop and offers amazing panoramic views of Albuquerque. They are open for dinner (daily 4 pm-10 pm) and Brunch (Sat-Sun 8 am-1 pm). You can also go up there and just enjoy some drinks or order room service.

Reservations are available for In-House Guests only with the exception of Holidays where Special Menus are served. They will accommodate all other dining guests based on availability.

To try out Level 5, make sure you book your stay at Hotel Chaco today!

Hotel Chaco Parking

There is plenty of parking at Hotel Chaco Albuquerque so you don’t have to worry about that. Right next to the entrance of the hotel, there is a big parking lot that is connected and within feet of the lobby. Parking is included in the resort fee.

Hotel Chaco is located in such a great area, with so many places to visit within walking distance that you probably won’t need to move your car as much! But even if you do decide to go explore elsewhere, you can come back and not worry about not having a spot. The parking lot is well-lit and safe.

Hotel Chaco Amenities

There is a $30 resort fee which includes parking as well as all the amenities on the property. I, unfortunately, did not get to enjoy all the amenities on my stay, but I would have loved to take a dip in the pool and take a walk through the gallery!

Pool & Hot Tub

The large outdoor pool is open year round. It’s long enough for anyone who would like to do laps. With New Mexico having more sunny days than not, it is a great place to hang out during your stay at Hotel Chaco. They also offer pool-side food and beverage service seasonally.

The hot tub is located right next to the pool (not pictured). The hot tub looks like it could comfortably hold 4-6 people.

Fitness Center & Water Bottles

Don’t worry about missing out on a workout, Hotel Chaco has a large fitness center equipt with all the machines and equipment you may need. The fitness center is located right next to the pool, with windows looking out into the pool area.

Inside the fitness center they have free weights, workout machines and Peletons available for all hotel guests. They also have yoga equipment available, including mats and blocks. If you prefer to relax in the privacy of your own room, you can also request to have a mat in your hotel room.

Water bottles are available in each guest room and are replenished daily. If you need additional water bottles, you can ask the front desk and they will provide you with more. I did this, since the waters were small and I like to stay hydrated when I travel, and they were more than happy to accommodate!

Outdoor Areas

If you are looking for a more peaceful setting, Hotel Chaco has a lot of outdoor areas for you to relax.

Right behind the lobby, they have a garden area with a beautiful water fountain right in the center. Along the hotel, you will find many sitting areas as well as a fire pit.

There are also tables and chairs in the pool area covered by trees to provide shade. Or if you prefer to take a stroll, the property is beautiful inside and out, so you’ll find a lot of beautiful greenery and architecture. You can even walk over to Hotel Albuquerque as it is right next door!

Around Hotel Chaco Albuquerque

One of the main reasons why you pick a hotel is for its location. And let me tell you that you will hit the jackpot with Hotel Chaco. It is close to everything you could need, including the airport, Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ), which is only 7.5 miles from the hotel!

Historic Old Town

One of the most popular areas of Albuquerque is Old Town. Old Town Albuquerque is made is made up of more than 150+ individually owned and operated businesses. These businesses range from shops, restaurants, wine tastings and lodging.

It is also a great place to take photos and feel like you are back in history!

We walked over from Hotel Chaco to go check out Old Town and it was about a 10 minute walk.

Sawmill Market

Need somewhere to eat? Look no further that Sawmill Market! Sawmill Market is a food hall that is located right across the street from Hotel Chaco. Literally.

Inside Sawmill Market you will find food ranging from pasta, vegan food, coffee shops, Mexican food, and one-of-a-kind waffles! I personally loved the pasta at Tulipani Pasta. You can see a full list of their merchants here.

There is plenty of seating at Sawmill Market, with some tables inside and a whole back porch area. I definitely recommend sitting outside on a nice sunny New Mexico day. Or if you prefer, enjoy your meal in your room at Hotel Chaco, like I did after a fun filled day of exploring Albuquerque.

Sawmill Market is open Sunday through Thursday, 8 am – 9 pm and Friday through Saturday 8 am – 10 pm.

Museum District

After you are done eating at Sawmill Market and shopping at Old Town, you can also make your way to a museum!

Hotel Chaco is in the entertainment district, but also what you can call the museum district because this is where most are located.

The museums that are close by are New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science, Albuquerque Museum, Explora Science Center and Children’s Museum and the Planetarium & Astronomy Center. While we were there, they even had the Van Gogh Immersive Experience.

The museums are all within a 10-minute walk from Hotel Chaco.

As you can see, Hotel Chaco is a great option for anyone who wants to visit Albuquerque, New Mexico and be in a great location close to food and entertainment. Or even if you want to relax at the hotel, Hotel Chaco Albuquerque has a lot to offer on property.

You can book your stay at Hotel Chaco here.

And while you are in New Mexico, don’t forget to go check out White Sands National Monument!
