San Antonio Rodeo 2019

Let’s Rodeo San Antonio!

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that this is my favorite time of the year! Here in Texas, there are rodeos in San Antonio, Austin, Dallas/Ft Worth and Houston. I still haven’t been to the one in DFW, but I’ve been to all the others at least once! And since I live in San Antonio now, I’ve been going to that one for the past couple of years.

This past weekend, I took my family to their first San Antonio rodeo and they loved it! If you’ve never been, let me give you a little break down on what goes on. Each rodeo ticket comes with a concert and entry into the fairgrounds.

The Rodeo

There’s a rodeo every day for 18 days. Each night they ride the bucking horses, do the cattle roping, muttin’ bustin’, barrel racing and bull riding. Then after each event, they clear the floor and set up a stage!

The concert happens after the events and varies depending on what night you go. They’ve try to cater to each demographic by including Spanish, Pop, Christian, and Norteño artists. To see the full San Antonio lineup, click here. I’ve gone to see some pretty great acts throughout the years!

The Fairgrounds

The fairgrounds are spread out across the AT&T center. All rodeo tickets give you access to this area, but if you aren’t into rodeos and just want to walk the grounds or go on the rides, they sell tickets just for that as well!

They also have smaller stages set out there will live bands playing music all day and night. A lot of vendors handing out samples and snacks, a wine garden, different expositions, and my favorite, a petting zoo! Seriously, I walk the grounds just to go see the goats and llamas! And if you go at the right time, you might be able to catch the piggy races or college rodeo!

Outfit Details: Top | Jeans | Boots

I wouldn’t say I’m a country girl. I prefer Louboutins over cowgirl boots any day, but I’ll dust off my boots at least once a year to continue my tradition of going to the rodeo! So if you’ve never been, you need to find the closest one to you and go! I promise you, it’ll be a fun experience! And don’t forget to go check out the goats! *Pro Tip: they prefer the ice cream cone over the alfalfa pellets!
