ABOUT me
Hi! I’m Mayra
Born in California, raised in Texas, I gotta say I got the best of both worlds. Growing up we always lived in small town where everyone knew your name. And while small towns have their charm, I always felt like something was missing.
I left my town as soon as I could and after getting a taste of what was outside those small town county lines, I couldn’t stop being on the move.
I began blogging as a way to grow my confidence and share my experiences with anyone who would listen. Fast forward to now, and I still haven’t stopped moving!
USA state count: 12
Country count: 8
Fun facts
001.
I’m a Sagittarius, which explains my love for travel and burning (fire sign) desire to see and experience the world. You really can’t keep me tied to one place for too long!
002.
Military fiancee, which means we move every few years. But I don’t mind it, I actually love it. It means we get to see new places and meet new faces!
Previously: Texas
Currently: Arizona
Next: unknown
003.
I like taking cooking classes in the different countries I visit so I can come home and share with my friends and families a little piece of the culture.
So far I’ve made paella in Madrid, Spain and macaroons in Paris, France.
Where I’ve Been/Lived…
↠ USA
I’ve lived in the USA my whole life, but have moved around quite a bit, mostly in the Southwest. I’ve lived in California, Texas, and Arizona.
I enjoy visiting popular US destinations such as Las Vegas and Sedona, Arizona and finding the best IG-worthy places, restaurants, things to do, and where to stay at each. I am also on a journey to fill up my National Park passport stamp book.
↠ Europe
Since I was little, I’ve always wanted to travel to Europe, but specifically to Paris, France.
In 2017, I took my first trip to Europe with EF Ultimate Break, a group tour company, to Spain and Portugal, and immediately fell even more in love with Europe. In 2021, I finally made my dream come true of going to France, spending a week solo in Paris. We also drove through and stayed in Andorra, the smallest country I’ve visited!
↠ Mexico
My family is from Mexico and in 2021 I finally visited where they are from – the state of Zacatecas. We went to Zacatecas (the capital of Zacatecas) and the pueblo majico of Jerez. Additionally, we saw the turquoise waters of la Huasteca Potosina in San Luis Potosi.
↠ Canada
Had to visit our neighbors up north! Taking a trip out to Toronto was my first time out of the country with my husband and the start of our yearly international trips! Sadly, I haven’t been back but have many popular Canadian places on my bucket list!
↠ Where to Next?
My goal for 2023 is to get my country count into the double digits and my USA states to 20!
I plan to continue my travels through Europe. I seem to be going in order from South to North (Portugal, Spain, France, Andorra), so next on my list is Italy and Switzerland!
As for the good ‘ol USA, we will continue to visit more states as we have a big move in 2023 when we PCS to a new military base. Stay tuned to find out where!
Additionally, I would love to begin visiting Latin America and Asia!
ABOUT me
Why I Blog…
Originally I started this blog to share fashion inspo and sales. But after my first trip out of the country, I was hooked on seeing more of the world and I knew “travel” was what I was meant to do. But how could I do it without working a “regular” job?
Blogging is an excellent way to both document my travels as well as share my experiences (and get paid) to help others have an amazing trip. I wish I would have had these resources when I first started traveling.
But ultimately I blog because I love it. I love writing, I love photography, I love sharing, I’m obsessed with traveling and I want to help others travel more! Trust me, it’s completely doable and I show you how with all these resources!
Thank YOU!
Thank you, thank you for being here! It means the world to me that you find my content helpful. My hope is to be a wealth of knowledge and recourses for anyone wishing to travel and see this beautiful planet we live on! The greatest compliment I can receive is hearing someone say they visited a place after seeing my post about it.
