Toledo, Spain

Medieval Toledo! I wasn’t sure what to expect, and I was actually surprised by this little town!
Toledo is about 30 miles outside of Madrid. You’ll see a lot of advertisements for it in Madrid. If you get a chance to visit, I definitely suggest doing it! We headed off to Toledo right after visiting the Palacio Real de Madrid. To say we did a lot of walking that day is an understatement!
This little town sits on a hill surrounded by a river with bridges creating access to it. It really has a medieval feel to it, but with a twist! It is known as the the city “of three cultures” because of its influence from medieval Arab, Jewish and Christianity. This walled old city still has its ancient synagogues, mosque, and churches.

Madrid, Spain

Ah, Spain!
Anytime anyone asked where I was going for my trip, I said Spain. I didn’t mean to leave Portugal out, and I was excited about going there, but everyone is more familiar with Spain and it just seemed easier. Also, everyone I had talked to that said they had been to Europe, said that Spain was their favorite. I found out immediately why that is and I couldn’t agree more!
Let’s begin with Spain’s capital and the heart of the Iberian peninsula: Madrid!

Sintra & Cabo de Roca, Portugal Travel Diary

Now let’s travel to a real life fairy tale town and the prettiest place I ever did see! My favorite city of the whole trip: Sintra! Also, since we took a little detour to a surprise spot, I’ll share some pictures of that too!
Unfortunately this was only a half day trip and I really wish our tour would have included a whole day here (two days in Lisbon would have been enough). I’m pretty sure about 80% of the group would agree too! But Sintra is now on my list of places to visit again and I can’t wait to share with y’all this charming little town!

Lisbon, Portugal Travel Diary

Since Portugal was the first European ground I ever stepped on, it’s only fitting that I begin this series with Lisbon!
I’ll be posting a different post for each city I visited because I want to be as thorough as possible! There was so much to see, therefore there is so much to say! I want to share with y’all all the places I saw, shopped, and ate at! Also, I took like a million photos, so….
Alright, let’s hop on a plane and travel to Portugal’s capital: Lisboa!

Brunch: Grayze on Grayson

I am very picky when it comes to food. Unless I absolutely hate a place, I will give the restaurant two to three tries before I make a permanent judgement of it, but more so if I want to write a review of the place for y’all. Also, because I like to try their different plates.
Today I’ll be reviewing a place that is just a five minute drive from the Pearl: Grayze on Grayson.

Olé, San Antonio!

Did I tell y’all that I’m taking a trip to Spain and Portugal at the end of the summer? I know, very exciting! It’ll be my first time in Europe. I can hardly wait! And I guess San Antonio must have know because they’ve actually brought a piece of Spain to the Pearl!
Running from June 16- September 16, the Pearl will be hosting a number of events featuring gastronomy, music & dance, and art & architecture straight from Spain! Some events are free, others have a fee, but there is something for everyone!

Downtown Tuesday

Do y’all remember that song that came out last year? “Going upppp, on a Tuesdayyyyy!” When I first heard it I was like “What??! Don’t you mean the weekend???” But San Antonio begs to differ. #TuesdayIsTheNewFriday
There’s an organization in town called Downtown Tuesday that has partnered with over 65 businesses to bring Downtown San Antonio free parking, events, and special deals.

Austin, TX

Another weekend, another great trip! This time to my favorite city: Austin, TX!
I actually lived here for 5 years when I was going to school at Austin Community College and got my Associates in Meeting and Event Planning as well as in Hospitality Management. Austin is truly the best city for that! I’ve been away for about 3 years now and it’s crazy how much its grown! However, somehow Austin still keeps its charm.
Here’s how our trip went

Houston, TX

June is already gearing up to be a busy month! Summer school has started for me, but everyone else is off meaning there’s tons of summer events going on! From games, to birthdays and holidays, I’ll be on the road almost every weekend of June!
This past weekend I hit the road and went to Houston, TX! Here’s a recap on what we did, where we ate, where we stayed and how we got around.

San Antonio Missions + Bark in the Park Night + Memorial Day Sales

Did you know that San Antonio has their own baseball team? When I found out, going to a game quickly became one of the top things I wanted to do in San Antonio. And then I heard about Bark in the Park, an event where you get to bring your dog to the game. And I knew that day was gonna be the day I watched a San Antonio Missions game!
